Era
Tool watches and the first named families. IWC's Albert Pellaton designed the hand-wound caliber 89 in 1946, and the RAF ordered the Mark XI built around it in 1948. Longines launched the Conquest in 1954, IWC the anti-magnetic Ingenieur in 1955, and Omega the Speedmaster and Seamaster 300 together in 1957. Radium was still in use on many luminous dials.
